  Common Rail and E.U.I./P.P.D. Spares

  We are one of the UK’s largest stockists and suppliers of common rail diesel spare parts, we stock a very broad range of tools and test equipment as well as Electronic Unit Injection (EUI) and Piezo Pump Deuce (PPD) spares. Fundamentally, our spares range covers the parts required needed to rebuild and recondition Common Rail pumps and Injectors. We also stock some pre-common rail parts too. In total, we have over 20,000 different part numbers available for next day delivery.

  Our range includes cap nuts, seal kits, nozzles including Firad nozzles (as we are the UK agent for Firad), injector seating washers, pilot valves, high pressure seals and leak-off connectors. In terms of pre-common rail parts, we have conventional type diesel pumps and diesel injectors such as Simms inline pumps, Bosch in line and VE rotary pumps, CAV DPA and DPC rotary pumps, Denso pumps, Zexel pumps and Bryce single cylinder pumps. We also have Corona diesel test equipment (as we are also the UK agent for Corona Diesel) and spares in stock.

  Probably just as importantly, we have the technical expertise, knowledge and experience to be able to advise our customers on the correct part to use for a particular application and particular engines.   General Spares

  We have a storage warehouse at our premises in Blackburn which houses thousands of general spares which is very carefully maintained and looked after. Our general spare parts cover all your diesel fuel injection requirements, for both common-rail and pre-common rail applications. We hold a number of highly specialized and hard to obtain parts that are hard to get hold of either off-line or online.

  We have over 20, 000 items in stock and available for rapid dispatch. You will be able to find most parts by searching the database that is on this website, but if the part you need is not in the database, please call us on 01254 53545 and we will do our best to help. If we don’t have the part in stock ourselves, we are often in a position to locate the part for you from another source.

  Filtration

  Contaminants, bad fuel and dirt are the enemy of any diesel or petrol engine. The reality is that on the journey from the refinery to your engine, your engine oil and fuel have travelled through numerous pipes, and tanks and been subject to airborne dirt and dust that can enter through vents and breathers. On this journey abrasive contaminants will have entered into the fuel and oil which is then put into a vehicle engine.

  In addition, normal operational wear in an engine is the source of contamination with tiny metal particles being created by the movement of crankshafts, bearings and pistons, for example.

  This emphasizes the requirement and importance of oil and fuel filtration for vehicles whether they be cars, light commercial, marine, agricultural or plant. We have a broad range of filtration parts for a variety of applications for common-rail and non-common rail diesel engines.

  Our extensive range of filter components and assemblies includes water traps and water separators, single and double filter assemblies, agglomerators, aluminium and glass filter bases, filter tops, filter elements and in-line filters.

  Lift Pumps

  Before the advent of common-rail diesel, lift pumps were the primary mechanism for bringing fuel from the fuel tank to the fuel pump. It is a low-pressure pump forcing diesel fuel to the high-pressure pump in the engine; the lift pump supplies the head of pressure needed to that high-pressure pump. Since common-rail, electric pumps, or vacuum pumps are used to get fuel to the engine fuel pump, but there is still significant demand in the market for pre-common rail lift pumps. We not only have a great deal of knowledge of lift pumps at Darwen Diesels, but we also have an extensive range of them in stock at our premises for a broad range of applications including: Cars, agricultural, light commercial, plant, marine and commercial.

  We also stock lift pump assemblies, repair kits and flange gaskets. We also carry modern lift pump assemblies such as the electric pump and electric pumps inside the filter assembly that is used in Perkins applications.

  Banjos, Bolts, Fittings etc

  A banjo fitting - also known as an internally relieved bolt – is essentially a hollow bolt that is perforated with a spherical union. This is for fluid transfer. They are often to be found in hydraulic systems such as the brakes and the clutch, and in fuel and motor oil systems too. Banjo bolts are used in cars and commercial vehicles as well as plant, marine and agricultural applications.

  If you are servicing or doing major work on an engine, there will undoubtedly be a need for replacement fittings such as banjo’s and bolts as they often wear and threads have become stripped. We have a very comprehensive range of just about any fitting you might need to service or work on your diesel engine.

  We have banjo fittings and bolts for a wide variety of manufacturers and applications. We have numerous types of banjo fittings and bolts for Bosch, CAV/Lucas, Simms and Denso pumps. We also have all the fittings you are likely to need for lift pumps, filter assemblies and fuel line connections.

  In addition, we have in stock almost every type of aluminium non- return valve in a broad range of sizes, both with and without filters.

  We have a comprehensive range of sizes of injector pipe nuts and olives, which are available in brass, plain, stepped, and plated versions.

  Test bench pipe, injection pipe, high-pressure steel pipe, emergency fuel pipes, leak off tube, and supply hoses are also in stock with various differing lengths and diameters.

  Seating and Sealing Washers

  Seating and sealing washers play a vital role in the correct functioning of high-pressure systems. For example, every new injector kit is supplied with a soft annealed copper washer; that washer, though seemingly simple, acts as a high-pressure seal. If the wrong thickness washer is fitted, the atomised fuel from the injector would be directed to the wrong part of the piston crown and could cause incorrect burn of the fuel vapour and would not create the best burn for the power stroke of the engine.

  The injector, in a high-pressure diesel system, has to seat into the seal absolutely perfectly, or else there is a risk that a pressure by-pass may happen, so reducing the compression in that cylinder which will result in a loss of power from that cylinder even when a new injector has been fitted. We supply a tool to remove the old seating washer if it does not come away with the injector and is still fixed in the cylinder head, also we do a reaming tool to cut any old carbon residue from the seat in the cylinder head for the injector but it must not be used to cut any alluminium from the injector seat, this would create a problem as previously explained.

  We stock a number of the most commonly needed washers for seating and sealing, and we are second to none in our stock of Injector seating washers found in cars, commercial vehicles, agricultural vehicles, and marine and plant equipment. We have common rail copper and steel injector seating washers for Bosch, Delphi, Denso and Continental VDO applications. On our well maintained and regularly updated database, we have over 100 individual parts which cover both European and Japanese engine types.

  As well as stocking commonly used seals and washers, we also have the harder-to-find more specialist items such as pump washers, flame traps and heat shields, banjo washers, filter washers and leak off washers.

  To ensure that our copper seating washers are soft and pliable, and create a rock-solid seal when the injector is fitted, they are all annealed during the manufacturing process.
