Getting the correct size and thickness of seating washer is vital because the atomised fuel needs to combust at exactly the right point in the compression chamber. If the thickness of the seating washer is incorrect, this could have negative consequences including unburnt fuel, the potential loss of engine power, and excessive smoke.
